I am a new person to the paintball world and i need a paintball gun. I want a kit that comes with a mask, gun, co2 tank, hopper, and vest. Or whatever else you think i need. I will probably most of the time using this in the woods for wars when im not practicing. My price range would be anywhere below 200$. I will be picking best answer. Thanks!!!!

Best reply by Shadow Wolf:

Pick up any of the Tippmann kits. The 98, Alpha Black, A5, or any of the others in the Tippmann line. These will all be mechanical semi-auto at the lower end which is more than enough to start with. I suggest buying a 20oz CO2 tank since most kits come with a 9oz tank or less.

You won’t be getting a vest in a kit. That will be extra. You can pickup a cheap ball carrier at Walmart or Kmart that will be good enough for a while. I used a small ball carrier for a couple years before I moved up to a vest. I keep the small carriers for when I want to play light. With a vest, you can carry up to about half a case of paint. Keep in mind your size and physical abilities when looking at vests. My fully loaded vest with the tank weighs over 15 pounds and the marker can add 2-5 pounds on top of that. At the start of a game you could be carrying up to 25 pounds depending on your choices.

If you are not going to a commercial paintball field, you also need at least a hand held chronograph. All paintball markers should be shooting at 300fps or less. The equipment is not designed to take more than that. Neither is your skin and hands. A chronograph will add another $70-80. Don’t play with anyone unless all markers involved have been chronographed at 300fps or less. This is a very important safety issue. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.

If you buy good equipment, you can build on it and add to it as you progress. As you learn more about paintball, you’ll get a better idea what you need. You can set yourself up fairly well on a tight budget with some wise choices.

Become our Fan on Facebook: www.facebook.com Viewer discretion is advised. The following video contains strong language…. Mostly from Robbie the ref. Social Paintball was on location at Central Florida Paintball filming Team Revolution when we decided to put a camera on a ref to see what he sees. This video is the result. Referees play a huge role in most competitive sports. Paintball is no exception. Paintball referees are often despised for the calls they have to make on the field. Today we’ll take a look through one ref’s eyes…. Watch for special guess appearances by two well-known players.

The sport of paintball has grown by leaps and bounds since it first started about 15 years ago. For people who do not like to always go to a gym and run in place on a treadmill, this may be the game for them. Many people have found that there are great health benefits to playing paintball a few weekends every month.

Fitness

There are no rules as to how in shape one has to be to play paintball. People of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels play. To play a friendly game, it does not require a whole lot of skill and physical fitness. It will, however, help to get a person in shape if one plays a few weekends out of the month. Depending on how much and how hard one plays, it may not help them lose a bunch of weight, but it may make it possible for them to have that extra slice of pizza and not feel paranoid about packing on the pounds.

Burning Calories

There are a few ways that a player can burn calories. Sneaking up on another player takes a lot of patience and work holding and contracting the muscles in the legs and arms. In addition, players can burn calories running to and from the enemy across the field. This beats running on a treadmill and not getting anywhere.

Gear

The paintball gear that the players have to wear will also give the players a workout. The paintball guns loaded with pellets that the players have to carry can weigh anywhere from five to 15 pounds. So while they are playing, they are also building muscles in their arms. This is more entertaining than lifting weights for so many reps in a gym. The players do not have to have special clothing, but because they have to wear protective clothing such as long sleeved T-shirts and pants they can get pretty hot and sweaty. This will, in turn, burn even more calories.

Exercise

Research says there are many health benefits to exercising regularly. It can lead to a decrease in the risk of heart disease, stroke, cancer and diabetes. Playing paintball is a way to change up the normal routine and help a person have some fun exercising with friends. It also promotes camaraderie with teammates and opponents, and the exercise relieves stress which, in turn, helps to build ones morale. A better mood and attitude has shown to help decrease health risks.
